I have one flowmaster deltaflow 40 muffler, dual out the back. I am open to any ideas how i can significantly make the exhaust louder........and still be legal. will just a flowmaster 40 muffler........or high flow cats. just looking for a simple solution to get more noise.

Don't use a muffler........ "How do you know you are a 'redneck'? Ain't got no muffler on the truck..."

Not "bustin' your *****", just kiddin' ya!! and it IS your user id!

Hear about people running straight pipes all the time on here. Even us "Yankees" seem to do it! Well, I don't, but that's just me!

Replace the 4 cats on your truck with 2 high flow cats. The second set of convertors is what quiets these trucks down.

Anyone know about the rules in cali regarding replacing cats? I thought you can't replace them untill after five years or something... Or if they are damaged. So does this mean I can quick mine in or punch a hole in them with a screw driver and then replace them?

Don't bother with "damaging" your current cats. (unless you are getting rid of them alltogether). Just about every mom & pop exhaust shop will sell/weld on new hi flow ones for you.

If the problem of CHP/fix-it tickets arises, just say that your exhaust was damaged while off roading.

Hope this helps.

The cheapest way to make it louder is replace that muffler with a straight (or y-) pipe. The 40 series Delta Flow makes it pretty quiet.

You might see some loss of some low end, but you'll have lots more in the upper rpms and it'll be loud.

Loss of low end.

I'm gonna run my truck Wednesday at the track with no muffler. I've already done it before and I have bad off the line power. My engine's all top end.

Exhaust will then be my next mod before anything else so I'll be able to run it again and see what happens.

Hell... I would love that but don't you have problems getting it through inspection? In NJ... you get failed if you fart up wind while waiting for your truck.

I currently have no muffler on my truck. They don't do emission testing where I get my brake tags. They don't even look under the truck.
