Bassani Exhaust

I have a 2003 Ford F250 XLT SuperCrew 4x4(5.4L). I would like to get Bassani exhaust for it, I have heard the sound and I prefer it. Any thoughts on the Bassani? I want a dual exhaust system maybe or a dual tip on one side either behind the wheel or in front for side exhaust. Any ideas or recommendations? Also how will it sound if I get the full system with headers, after cats, and full exhaust? Which type of piping will give me the deepest sound? Thanks.

~Colby

P.S. As you can tell I am new to the Ford F150... Thanks for your help.

Colby,

You can go the route of true duals, and it sounds and works great. I did mine about 5 months. I used what would be called a Bassani cat back for a L ( which is duals from the factory ) and had the factory Y pipe cut out and started the rework there. When attaching to the stock Cat output you need a 90* bend, and ~ 33" of pipe on each side to make it back to the X pipe. If you are doing headers and high flow cats this will change a bit.

I still have stock to the output of the cats. I Didn't do headers or high flow cats. But that is just what I did at the time. Yuo can go with Kooks Long tube headers and Magnaflow high flow cats if you want. Remember you need to have a chip programmed for the headers.

Here are a few pictures of my system installed on my 4x2 SCrew:

I got my Bassani System from ChickenEars he is a supporting member here. Check from the home page, lower right hand corner is the list of supporting vendors.
If you are going with the Kooks Long Tube headers, Give Mike Troyer a call, he can also get the Magnaflow parts as well as the chip, an FIPK and lots of other goodies.

Good luck, let me know if you have any other quetions

Steve
