I've got a 5.4 triton and I'm looking to put some sort of exhaust on it. What I want to do is just "Y" it off behind the cat and run duals out the back. I could use some input on how this is going to sound, I had one friend tell me it's probably going to sound like a demo derby car. Thanks for any info.

I work at a muffler shop and this setup is quite popular. IMO though, the more I listen to them the more I think it just doesn't sound right, too much of a hollow sound and not enough deep, throaty like, just real thrashy like. If you like that sound, more power to you But I would reccomend mufflers like Mag, glasspacks, or maybe Flowmaster. We stock these brands at our shop and most other shops will too. To my Ears, I think muffled systems just have a more aggressive throaty sound and it's under control too. Like I said, if that's the sound you like whether it be thrashy or nice deep grrrrrrrrr from the tailpipes, more power to you. Good luck,,,,91

 

Thanks for the help guys. I'm going to try it with the straights first, then see how that sounds. I let you know when I get them put on.

It will sound good and if you dont like it, weld in some glasspacks
