Super Loud Exhaust ?
Neighborhood waking sound eh? There's a difference between guys that put on freeflow exhaust to accentuate other mods they've done. Other mods usually work better with a freeflowing exhaust. I don't mind someone with that type of exhaust(a little throatier). Then there are the guys that solely want NOISE to get attention. I put them in the same category as the guys that drive SUV's with the rear hatch window open so everyone can hear their "worth more than the truck" stereo system. Both types deserve tickets. I'm glad to help out the neighbors that have been awaken by issuing those tickets with a smile on my face.
The reason I'm posting this reply is to hopefully save you some money in 3 ways. 1) price of the exhaust downgrade... 2) ticket price if you happen to have a law against that type of exhaust sound... 3) price of fixing your exhaust.

I'm only 18 so I am still into the loud exhaust. Once I get the first or second exhaust I'll change to Magnaflow. I have to put up with my college neighbors thumping sound system, so he has to put up with the loudest exhaust in town. Sucks being my neighbor.
Just go with my set up I have now, it doesn't get much louder than this unless you swap out cats or add headers.
2.5" true dual straight pipes, with rolled cut stainless tips out the sides, it echoes off anything you want it to, and it SNAPS like crazy when you get on it.
Sure it is loud but if you drive it responsibily you won't have any problems with the cops. Also i am gettin 17-18mpg running straights with my 5.4 with a chip. And I am also running 285-75-16s on it.

I had a MAC cat back system on my ext. cab 01 w/ a 5.4. It sounded very good , but was not terribly loud. It was very affordable, looked good, I gained alot of performance and recieved better gas mileage. I just recently installed a flowmaster 50 series cat back system on my 01 Lightning and it sounds amazing...light rumble at idle, but comes to life with a little throttle. I'm getting better mpg's too fyi.
Bassani is the best. It sounds amazing and it is the best HP gain you can acheive. Or just get dual flowmasters and pay the guy $50 extra to take OFF the cats. My friend did this on his truck and it is VERY DEEP AND VERY LOUD.
