Would it be best to order a new Y pipe and then a 40 series off the internet or by phone? and then have a shop put it in? or would it be best to buy it from the shop and then have the labor done there? Would the price be better off the net? Or would a package deal with labor be better? Thanks for your opinions.

You would probably get a better price if you ordered your muffler and Y pipe from Jeg`s or Sumit, and had the work done at your local muffler shop.

Some shops carry FM mufflers; you should ask the one that interests you if they carry the exact muffler that you want, and compare prices. They're not likely to stock or know much about the FM Y-pipe.
