Post LOW-END TORQUE

I keep hearing things about losing low-end if you get exhaust. Is there any mod to exhaust that will increase/maintain low-end and also make it loud? Is the best way to keep low-end to not do anything to your exhaust at all? What about changing the Y-Pipe? Aggh! So many questions! Any input would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

There you will find an "X" pipe system that increases torque. They also have one of the best mufflers for a nice sound and horsepower increase that there is.

is spin tech pretty loud? kinda what i'm goin for...Thanks for the input, so they exit out the sides? huh, or are they at a diagonal angle? anyone have this setup?

Spintech has many sizes of mufflers. Some are just for performance with no sound reduction and others give the performance with sound reduction. I tried a single pipe out and didn't have any sound increase. I did not like that so we changed it to a two pipe out. It has a nice little rumble to it now. The muffler I choose was the eight chamber. His five chamber lets a lot of sound out.
The "X" pipe replaces the "y" pipe. The crossover feeds the left and right bank into the muffler. After the muffler you can have it dump where ever you want. I chose to have it dump where the original pipe dumped the exhaust.

I'm one who has lost some on the low end, but not for long, as soon as I put on an H or X pipe, hello power.

It's my thinking that whenever someone has a sytem installed, it should automatically come with an H or X pipe. I spoke to a mechanic at the dealership near my house (cool guy too) and he said that all the muscle cars, such as mustangs, etc, come stock with an H setup.

What's your opinion on the H or X? You sound like you have a lot of experience/knowledge on the subject. So far, my hunch is that the X (at least to me, logically speaking) would be the best choice. What would you go with on a true dual setup?

Max: Z28's would have a real dual exhaust, but GM can't properly engineer the F-body for it to work. There's no room. A true dual system with a H or X and proper mufflers would definatley not lose power or torque., but would increase it thoughout the RPM band.

NEWAZ, thanks for all the info. I know know what I will be putting on my system (that is as soon as I rob the bank down the street kidding) I'm gonna go for the x pipe.

Anyone know what that sucker will cost me? or where I can find'em for sale?
