Dual Exhaust Question
Dual Exhaust Question
I currently have a dual side (passenger and driver exit) Flowmaster 70 Series setup on my Expedition. My tips are starting to corrode and I 'm getting the pipes rerun for $75 and a new set of larger (4-5") chrome tips. Does anyone have any suggestions on new pipe placement? Should I run them as they are or go back to the stock setup of side exit on the passenger side?? I will be running dual pipes either way. Also does anyone know where I can get some large 4-5" chrome tips that will make create the "drooling" effect????
Current setup
U can barely see the tip, need 2 change that!!!

I haven't seen a pre made system that was flow tested with the dumps in the place that you have now. Why got me, but I don't think the manufactures do it for a reason, maybe it jacks up the flow too much and robs TQ from the system ??? ( got me I am pontificating ).
If you are having a shop bend the system on site, I guess you can go either way depends on what look you want. If it is a good local shop then go with what they suggest. If they say it is up to you, they might not know about TQ loss when bending pipe wrong. This is what I have found from local shops around Chicago area, for the most part they bend pipe to fit under the truck, and put the dumps where ever without thought to the xhst gas flow.
Not much help, but maybe changing back to the stock dump point on both ( if the system is bend correctly ) would help performance.
As for the tips, I have not seen round 4", I have seen slash cuts that the opening is 4 "+ Magnaflow makes a bunch of SS tips, just watch this time between chrome and polished SS tips for the rust part.
Good luck with it, it will look sweet either way.
