Question Even Louder?

Well, in my ever ending task to make my truck louder...I was contemplating this idea while at the shop today having my old Flowmaster 40 installed on my ol' lady's 2000 Sunfire. They have some very nice looking 4" x 30" or so stainless tips, and I was wondering if adding one of these, aiming it at the ground, would do anything for loudness or tone for my exhaust note on my 4.6L with 3" mufflerless turn down. Right now the 3" pipe "turns down" right before the rear axle about 8" long at the bend, and I figured the 4" x 30" would make it louder, working like a mega phone. Any thoughts on this? I may have to make a run up there again tomorrow. TIA!!!

Hi jackal
I was wondering how your F-150 sounded with the cat back no muffler system. I have the same truck basically with the 5.4 and 4" lift with some 35/12.5/15 tires and wanted some big sound to match the truck. basically i am wondering if it is a deep rumble or a popping sound. do you have a recording? If so i would love to hear it.

Thanks
Bigern

Hahaha...check your post man. On my '99 4.2L, I had popping at deceleration with a FM 40, but on my '01 4.6L, no popping in any configuration with the FM 40, unless in neutral, and I floored it. No popping at all in my current configuration, which kinda sucks, as I like the popping. I could be wrong, but I think the size pipe could have a lot to do with popping, as my '99 had 2 1/4" duals out the back.
