Question stock exit - w/ deep tone , and not loose torque?

Is there something I could get with a deep tone and still have the same or single exit?
Don't really want to have "extra" pipes or wieght. Can I get a different muffler using same piping? Don't want to loose no low end torque either, does'nt make sense to have load , big motor sound when your losing your a$$ in the truck?

Yes, you can just replace the muffler and leave your stock pipes. If all you want is a little more sound and no loss of torque I and others would suggest goign with a Gibson muffler. The weight savings you can save by removing the stock muffler is amazing, you could probably put on dual pipes and still have about the same weight as the stock system had. I personally want a nice (sort loud) rumble so I plan to go with a Flowmaster 40 or 50 series or a Ravin system. Some say they have lost torque others haven't.

Cool

I had a local heavy truck shop put my muffler on. Stock piping elsewhere. If the original muffler was about 8" round and about 30" long (correct me if i'm wrong, it's nearly 2 yrs since i put this one on), the new muffler is oval, about 4" high and about 12" long.

Result - lots of torque, saved about 40lbs i'd say, sweet rumble, and all round great performance.

I'm still trying to find a tape recorder or something so i can make a .wav or .mp3 of it. You'd have to hear it to believe it.

Was 100.00 cdn installed.

bambino -
What type muffler did you go with? I want something louder than the gibson side swept, which my bud has and it aint much loader than mine. I'm thinkn the flowmaster 40 or 50 but I don't want to hear that drone or losse torque when pullin a trailer with three 4 wheelers and stands for our hunts to FLA and Ohio. Any suggestions?

You might want to try looking into a Flowmaster Delta flow 50 series.
That might fot the bill for what your looking for.

Just installed Flowmaster Series 50, because I did not want the cab noise - will say at the back it sounds terrific and inside so problem.
