Thumbs up 5.4 exhaust price

I stopped by a local custom exhaust shop and I got a price on a true dual exhaust for my '99 F-150 with the 5.4. They want $200 for parts, and labor, this also includes my choice of tips for the exhaust.

What do you think of that price? I think it is good, since my sport duals for my '92 with chrome tips cost me like $260 and that was single exhaust with dual tail pipes.

Should I have this out the side or straight out the back? It will be straights with no mufflers.

I have a 97 and it cost me $170 with the choice of tips. I ran them strait out hte back because when they are out of the side you slip up the sound and it makes it sound quieter I think.

I ran my duals out the side behind the wheels at about a 45 degree angle. I did this because I pull cattle/flatbed/boat trailers frequently, and didn't want to choke on exhaust fumes while hooking up with the engine running. Also, more of the chrome tips show from the rear. Only problem with that is that rocks, debris kicked up by the rear tires have tarnished the bottoms of my 3" chrome tips. But...it's the bottom.

Just a quick FYI,

I checked out the Midas website and found my local shops, some of them have a %12 discount coupon on the website. worth checking out and taking with you...

One exhaust pipe for each side of the V-8 engine versus one pipe splitting into two pipes for a dual exhaust look.
