Question Ravin Z-55 on Screw Cost

Went to Midas to get a quote on a Z-55 muffler keeping stock pipes. I was quoted $213 installed. The muffler alone was $189.95. I rememebr some people saying the got everything for about $165! Now i've only been to one Midas, but is they price really going to vary that much. Was he quoting me the wrong muffler? Any help is appreiciated. Thanks!
Tony

Sounds a little high. Two weeks ago I had a Gibson muffler put on at the local Midas for $75. That included an extension pipe in front of the Gibson since it was shorter than the stock muffler & they welded an extra hanging bracket to the Gibson to keep it from rattling. All said & done I paid about $160 for everything.

tfratzke:

That definately sounds high! My quote was $299 plus tax and that included a Ravin Z-55, dual pipes out the back, and 2 3" diameter 36" long chrome tips.

One more thing: I went to four different Midas shops before finding one I would truct with my "baby on the way". The shop I decided on was really excited about being able to do a ravin system. They had done a Kingranch the day before. Also they do all the custom exhausts for three local ford dealers. The other three had young punks working in there and they acted like they didnt give a crap.

Hey SCOOBY14B, since you're not too far away, (I'm in Douglasville), do you mind telling me what Midas you got the good feeling from? I have only checked one, and while they seemed okay, I didn't get a warm fuzzy. They quoted between $350 and $380 for dual Z-55's out the back with stainless steel tips.

my email is nwday@yahoo.com if you don't want too post it.

Thanks,
