It is my understanding that this is completely normal for a large engine with some form of free flowing exhaust. Have you ever sat behind a police edition car? Every time I have been behind one, it looks like a kid peeing out both sides of the rear of the car, no matter how long they have had the engine running. To me it's kind of a cool thing, I think it gives a truck a "mean" look. You don't see a little Focus or Cavalier doing this, only the BIG BOYS! The rust color is normal. The engine gets so hot running that when it cools down, condensation builds up and it starts to rust the metal inside the exhaust. In all the years of having vehicles that do this, I have never had any type of exhaust problem or any problem in general with the system itself, except for the outer rim of the echo tips rusting up a little!

It's perfectly normal. The OEM system has "drain" holes in the muffler so most of the water exits there instead of out the tailpipe.

I hope you mean that you are going to paint the inside of the tail pipe?
If so, make sure to use a paint that is extremely tolerant of heat AND has a rust preventative in it. If I'm not mistaken PPG Prostar makes a paint for this reason. There is also a marine grade paint for engine blocks that has both the prior listed items. I don't know the name of it, but you could probably get it from a boat parts dealer.
Good Luck!

Cool

I had the same thing happening when I put my Ravin system on. I was considering painting the inside of the tips too, but now you can't see the rust color. I think it's just because it's new, give it a little bit then decide.

Make sure you use a good quality paint if
you do paint the inside. I didn't and the
result was more rust in just a few days.

The two major byproducts of combustion of a hydrocarbon (gas) are carbon dioxide and water. Initially the water will be in the form of a vapor due to the heat of combustion. As the exhaust travels through a cold exhaust pipe, the water vapor will condense into a liquid and flow out of the tail pipe or drain holes (if provided).

I think this is right.

The inside of my pipes are rusted, does this mean that inside my flowmaster muffler is also rusted?

Same principle as when you huff your breath on a mirror or eyeglasses. Ya get fog. Same thing's happening inside your tailpipes. But it stops, for the most part, after the exhaust pipes heat up too.
