GIBBSON OR CGS?
Hey guys -
I need your opinion on an exhaust for my 99 5.4 . This is the first I have heard of CGS, does anyone else have any input on their stuff? I have read lot bout the Gibbson and was thinkn of the side swept. If y'all could give some input on this it would be appreciated. Also what kind of advantage will stainless steel be over the regular.
Thanks. >>>-ONE->

Bryan,

As soon as I get a chance I'm going to update it because I have finished refitting it. If I knew then what I know now, I would have done it on first install and it would have been a lot easier.
I love the Swept Side! Because I got a great deal, I went S/S. I'm in North Texas so I shouldn't have any problem but for the difference at the time of about $80 I went S/S. The only difference is that the S/S is warranted for as long as you own the vehicle you've installed it on. The Aluminzed is warranted but not for rust through. If you live in a damp humid area or near the coast or up north where you'll be exposed to salt, I'd go S/S. If you live in the Arizona desert, save a little money and go Aluminized.

Bryan,
It depends on what you're looking for. The Gibson will be a little quieter, especially if you go with the side swept. I just installed the CGS Motorsport system on my dad's truck for Christmas and he loves it. I chose the CGS for a few reasons: 1) Their muffler rates higher than the others on the market for LOW END PERFORMANCE. Gibson does better than most of the others on the market, which the others are designed for HIGH RPM PERFORMANCE i.e., Flowmaster, Magnaflow, etc. I spoke to many of CGS' references to back up this clam. 2) Their muffler had a little more sound to it than the Gibson but has without the drown characteristics of the Flowmaster. 3) CGS' aluminized muffler is guarantees against rust unlike the Gibson aluminized muffler. If you choose the Gibson muffler, be sure to spend the extra money for the SS. Even here in California, the Gibson aluminized mufflers are known for rust problems. Contact Ron at www.cgsmotorsports.com for more info.
Best of luck!
