Thumbs up OH YA!!! Lady Luck has kissed my cheek!

My new truck (03' CC F350 with 6.0L PSD) has been chosen by Gibson for the prototype 6.0L Exhaust System!!
~ This means that after 2-3 days of fitting my truck, I will get a FREE system when it goes to production! WOO HOO!!

Well, I got my truck back from Gibson Performance after two days.

They installed a 4" Single Exit Cat-Back system with a 5" tip.

The truck sounds Sooooooooo nice! Its hard to describe a sound verbally much less in text, but I'll say it's really nice and very very low toned. It sounds like my rottweiler when she sees a cat in the front yard ~~ ya know that deep throat growl a big dog makes? Anyway, if you want a loud exhaust, forget it, this is typical Gibson -a quality, mellow sound -Just the way I like it = Not at all annoying or 'look at me' but enough to make it sound like the big bad truck it is!

The dyno results:

an increase of 10.3 SAE HP
an increase of 17.7 SAE Tq.

As far as feel:

Ya, a slight increase in response feel, but a NICE increase upon acceleration at highway speeds. Also, the engine feels 'looser', more smoothed out; less back pressure upon release of throttle.

I have the dyno sheet, but I need to take a picture of it to get it on the site.

Lastly, I gotta mention that this is my fourth Gibson system and I have always had a good experience. I now see why; they are very professional and great to deal with (especially when getting a free system ) ~ But really, Im very happy overall.

Those hp/tq #'s seem to be low considering that it makes 325 hp @ 3300 rpms and 560 ft-lbs tq @ 2000rpms stock. Judging by the stock numbers, that means your driveline was taking 51% of your hp away and 46% of your tq away, to me those numbers seem WAY off. Did they know that when they did those runs, that with the new 5 spd auto tranny, 4th gear has the 1.00 ratio, that is what gear you want your dyno numbers in.

I agree beastie. He faxed me the sheet yesterday and it was too late when I called him back so I will get ahold of him today to talk about the numbers.

Judging by the way the truck feels, these numbers have to be way off. but maybe the gain numbers are accurate...

we'll see after a chat
