Not sure what to do--need advice!
Can't seem to get a straight answer from Flowmaster. I have a 98, 4.2L V6, and wanted to put a new exhaust/muffler on. I've seen so many go with the Delta Flow 40 but not sure if this is going to work. Would like to have duals out the back, is this a good idea or not? HELP!!!

Hey man...I'll try and help ya out here...I know how ya feel.
I have the same truck..almost...and I went with the Flowmaster 40 3" in, (2) 2 1/2" out. Duals out the back to 16" X 3" chrome tips. At first, I was for some reason shocked...I regretted it and was "in shock." I thought I had just wasted a $26,000 truck. Then I slep on it...and LOVED it the next day, and still do!!! It's nice and quiet inside the truck, with a nice "tone" to it...but still roars when I get on it!!! I LOVE my 40 series!!! They mounted it under the existing muffler's heat shield, and man does it sound nice. No one can believe it's only a V6, believe it or not. It sounds especially nice on a cold winter morning.
No glass-pack pissed off bumble bee man...I promise. I am considering ordering me a new 2001 F-150 with the 4.6L and I will more than likely just keep the existing exhaust, and replace the muffler with the FM 40, but I WILL add a 3" stainless tip to get those rumbles. If you do the mod...and don't like it, simply add shorter tips, and that'll greatly reduce the noise. Let me know what you decide.
