Post Wave Files

Hey, I was really interested in the Wav file for the Flowmaster 40... Then I started thinking I could make a Web page with all the exaust wave files people on F150online have so everyone can access them easily. If I could get any Wav files sent to vanstory@colorado.edu, I can get something together. Like I said, I definately want to hear the Flowmaster 40 myself. Thanks!

Here's where you can grab a few waves from different setups on my truck. All sounds are from a 4.6 with 2.25" duals out the back.

No muffler/straight pipe.

Noname turbo?

The noname is actually a Mountain muffler Attitude performance muffler. These can at least give you something to start with.

What brand and series is that glasspack, and would I get roughly the same sound if I replace the factory muffler only-- use the factory pipes and all, just a new muffler. Also, if I do this, you think I will see an increase/decrease in HP/torque?
Thanks Tiron!!

Hey Tiron..that was cool of you to do. I thought the glasspacks sounded best. I noticed you got popping on the decel' with all the setups, I wonder if most mufflers do that when reving it in nuetral. Anyways, thanks for sharing

Cool

I have a Flowmaster 50-Series Deltaflow that exits through a single 3" exhaust pipe. It pops (softly) as it decels.

Pat:
The glasspack is manufactured by that same Mountain muffler I referenced in the other post. It's 18" long and 2.5" inside diameter I think. If you have a '97 it will probably be a bit louder in the cab because of the exit location, but otherwise I don't think the dual should change the sound too much. I didn't really notice much difference in HP/torque, but I only drove the truck for like a week before I started messing with the exhaust so I didn't get a good feel for it stock. I've been contemplating trying a Flowmaster as I think it might help power, but have had other things I wanted to spend money on first.

DirtSlinger:
I like the glasspack too. It's what I'm currently running. I think most "free flowing" mufflers will have popping to some extent. I know it's always been a "signature" of glasspacks.
