Well i going to the muffler shop tomorrow and they are supposed to install my new dynomax ultraflow-welded.
I must say that i'm becoming impatient thou,
i ordered it from this shop on tues. They say we can have it on weds. On thurs day they get the wrong one in. It is on next day order for fri. Still not in.
Sat 4pm, come in monday and we can put it in then.
I know people that have gone there and they say 2 things.
They do very good work and they take for ever to do it.
What to do.......????????? I guess i'd rather wait for someone reputable than go to a complete fool and be off on my way in 30 only to be headed back again.
To find some one here who does good work is a chore and sometimes compromises have to be made.

 

Finding someone nowadays that has their act together is nearly impossible. I ordered the same exhaust from a-1performance on a Monday and it was delivered and I installed it 2 days later on Wednesday. I hope this will make you feel better: this is a kick butt exhaust system, sound is wonderful, increased low and high range torque and power, best exhaust I've bought in 30yrs of fixing up cars and trucks. Well, you will never guess.
Of course it hasn't come in yet. I realize now i should have ordered it through summit and just took it to them. They do good work, I just don't understand how they can be so far behind.
I'll try again this afternoon. They said tues or weds. Ya right!

I tried to price the Ultra-flow welded number from a-1performance at Summit, and they told me it didn't exist/they didn't have it. I know it's hard to wait, but it's worth it if you like a throaty muscle car sound.

Who knows what they are getting paid to do?!

BTW, when i called the shop today they have gotten in 6 super turbos. Their distributor has been sending them the wrong muffler. He was saying that they were recently bought out and that they still have their heads up their....... He was also saying that he had to look up the part # and give it to them because they couldn't find it.
We'll see what happens on thurs, 12pm.

Summit and your muffler guy don't sound too keen. If they don't get it soon, you should get your money back (if you already paid), and order it from a-1performance. It only took me 2 hours to install it. Any muffler shop can install this ultra-fast. You don't really need a great recommended muffler shop, unless they are designing the system from scratch.

OH NO, I haven't paid for squat yet.
It's supposed to be in tomorrow. I was thinking of goin 3in from the cat back. The shop was ordering it from a distributor and the shop said the dist. kept sending the wrong one. I will try and hound him when i go in. Since i want to go w/ the cat back, maybe I can get him to give me the add on at cost. Hell, 4 ft of 3in pipe isn't but $13 from summit so i know he can do my system for under $100 installed. He was going to charge 79 muffler and install. The install is 15 so he's charging about 65 for the muffler. I'd cost me about that to order it and have it shipped. I'll pester him and see what comes of it.
Hell i can always go else where if he doesn't like my deal.

 

I misunderstood, I thought you were buying a complete cat-back system. Replacing the muffler only is a good improvement, but installing larger pipe anywhere won't help if you have smaller anywhere forward of that point. Your most forward restriction will limit all back from that; ex. putting a giant hose at the end of a garden hose won't make more water come out because of forward valve and hose size restriction. 2 good choices are replace muffler only or (better) get a complete specifically tuned cat-back system.

The part #'s from summit are 17220 19"
or the 17223 21". $59.95 Ultra flo welded.
I'm going to go from the cat back 3".

I saw the cfm rating on the 3" ultra flow and they just blow the flowmasters away.
Something like 2200 cfm Vs 392.
Edlebrock would seem like a good choice due to their cfm ratings also.

Summit order should be here weds and i'll take it in then.
I'll keep ya up to date.

I had my tracking # and "your delivery is in route" also spoke to a "rep" and they said that I should get it today.
Well guess what, monkeys flew out my butt and I won the lottery.
After I got home from my reserve meeting i'm all excited and no muffler. Call ups.
Package in route.... Talk to a person.
