Red face Flowmasters...

I was wondering which series of flowmaster exhaust I had on my truck. It was already installed when I bought my truck and yesterday I inspected my muffler, but all I saw was some patent #'s. Is there a way to tell what series it is? Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up

Look on www.flowmastermufflers.com I think they have some dimensions of their mufflers.
You could measure yours and find one that matches.

Thanks Blueoval. I went to the site and found all the measurements for each muffler. I measured mine at 13" long (my muffler that is) so I'm assuming that I have the "40 series". According to their site, the "40 series" has the most aggressive sound to it, which is exactly what I want.

I think the 30 series is the most aggressive. They are called the American Thunder series. I have 40's and don't think they are to loud, and the real test is that neither does my wife.

Actually, the 40 series are the most aggressive, unless you go right for a race car only muffler. "American Thunder" or "Force II" are generic names for flowmaster's exhaust systems kits, and do not directly have much to do with the muffler in the kit, but loudness level outputs. For example, a 50 series SUV-Performance muffler with 2-1/2" outlets are in both the Dodge Ram and F-150 cat-back kits. Since the factory volume level after the cats in the Dodge is very loud, it is louder after the kit install and called American Thunder. At the same location in the Ford, the volume is quieter and is therefore quieter after the kit install and gets the ForceII designation.

Mods: Undercoat, window tint, headlight & tail light covers, removed "Sport" decals, upgraded Triton tailgate emblem, Linex spray-in bedliner, an ARE LSII lid, recessed Blazer reflectors below the bottom tailgate edge (Thanks Captain),and a Flowmaster cat-back exhaust kit.
Wish list: K&N FIPK, Belltech 3/4 drop, Belltech or Helwig sway bars, and a front bumper cover with lights.

TF,

On the end of the flowmaster (usually on the exit end) there should be the part number engraved on the side. After you get the number you can then cross reference it with the web sight. Hope this helps
