Need advice on exhaust for 4.2l
The 50 series is a little bigger than the 40 series. If you measure it (length, width, height) you can probably match it to the dimensions listed in their catalog.
Even better: The part number is stamped on one of the ends of the muffler. It's five or six digits long and not very big. If you can find that, you'll know exactly what you have.

while on the subject of exhaust, I called a local shop today and they guy told me that he could put on dual flo pro mufflers and run a true system for $330. Has anybody ever heard of flow pro? if so is it as good as flowmaster?

hey, thanks. i'll have to check in the morning, don't really feel up to getting down on the garage floor tonight. also, if you don't mind my asking, i have a couple of questions concerning your electric radiator fan, which are: 1)price, 2)any noticable performance gains, 3) where'd you purchase it from? sorry for the questions, but I'm just trying to find some other performance upgrades. i know the Superchip would be most logical, but gas prices are getting pretty high here these days. i'm not sure if you're interested, but I talked to Roger Lemere(he runs the online store) and he should be receiving the ASP crank pulley for the V6 pretty soon. i'll most likely be ordering one. to all, sorry for the long post and danny thanks again for your help!!
snow white~
i have never heard of flo pro, but i do have a friend with true duals on his V6. being that it it a V6, IMO it is to high pitched at higher RPMS.

1) The fan cost about $80 and maybe another $30 for an adjustable temp switch and misc wiring. 2) No amazing increase in power, but I'm sure I gained something; the engine doesn't have to waste power spinning that large, heavy fan. It does seem to rev up easier. 3) I ordered it from Jeg's mail order.
I also delayed on buying the Superchip for the same reason (higher operating cost). But I figured I'm going to die in another 40 or 50 years, I may as well have fun now.
I *am* interested in an ASP crank pulley. I would have bought one by now if budget had allowed. If it's going to be available here, I'll certainly wait 'til then. You do know you have to buy a new serpentine belt? I have a part number somewhere.

SnowWhite,
I hate you for being able to know about this Message Board and getting ALL this advice before getting your exhaust! Anyway, I went to the shop and was going to get a 2 chamber FlowM., but was told that the MagnaFlow would give it a deeper sound, which is what I wanted. I went with the MagnaFlow and didn't like it. I wanted to switch it the next day! I paid $100 for everything, so at least I didn't spend too much.

Darin,
Did you say that you didn't feel much of a difference adding the superchip? or off the exhaust?
I have a V6 4.2L and wanted to get the SuperChip. Suggestions?

Hey Snow White just noticed from another board that you are in dallas area. Well there is a muffler shop in Plano on central just south of Park Boulevard. Check out this shop they do great work so I have heard from a whole lot of people. Including dealer friends that I have. Also whatever you end up getting I would love to hear it. Check out Events and Happenings board for upcoming dfw rallies. I am usually at them or we could meet up some other time.

hey snow white flow prows are NOT as good as flowmasters the are generic flowmasters and for the $330.00 they are charging you you could do a lot more , a 40 series flowmaster muffler from summit racing is $62.95 deliver
to your door and install it for about $50.00
you cant go wrong this way flow pro gives you a hollow sound and flowmaster gives you a deep powerfull sound. the flow pros tend to rattle a lot
