My advise, clone your wife. All I got from my wife was a T-shirt with a picture of part of my truck!

I was going to go with the 50 series too, but ended up going with the 40 series single in dual out . Its not too loud at all. At idle it is near stock sounding. NO annoying cab humm. I like it

A single in dual out Flowmaster, is the best exhaust for the money. Its the closest you can get to true duals on a 5.4L at least. The sound is good.

bosch45,

On the superchip....It really depends on where you live. I live in colo at 6000ft elav. Up here All my mods gave me very little improvements. I found this out the hard way. I did drive to Calif 2 weeks ago and BOY what a difference. I couldn't keep the wheels from spinning. I loved it. Im back home now and it feels like Im towing a boat all the time. Im looking into supercharging now.

good luck

The Other Dude

I went with the Gibson Super Truck and love it. Good volume, real noticeable, yet not annoying enough to pi$$ off the neighbors or the cops.

Installed it myself, extremely easy to do.

SUPERTRUCK! I can't say enough good things about Gibson. My first one broke a weld on a baffle, and they shipped me a new one no questions asked. Besides that, it sounds awsome. Not too loud at idle, really bellows under throttle. You can't beat 14 ga steel either.

Question

Bear with me, I'm new here, but as I am understanding it, I can replace my stock muffler with a Flowmaster 40 or 50 dual outlet muffler, have a shop bend a couple of pipes to go out the rear, add some chrome tips, and I'll have as good of sound and performance as if I spent big $'s on a Borla or other catback system?

CUL8R,

Yes and no. If the shop uses a ram to bend the tubing it will shrink the diameter inside and cause backpressure. It will sound OK but not flow as well. If you can get mandrel bent pipes then no problem. The premade cat-backs do have some R&D in them so you know that they should work as promised. If you do it your self you'll never know.
