Yes My three top priorities are Miles Per Gallon, Miles Per Gallon and Power. My fourth priority is Not Too Loud.
Which "Cat Back/ Muffler would fit my needs?
Has anyone had an exhaust system that improved their MPGs over the long term AND given them a little more power? Gibson, Flowmaster,Magnaflow etc?
Thanks in Advance for your Answers,
Bill

Nope......
At least not in my case...... I feel I gained some low end with my Gibson SS, but no mpg's. Didn't go in thinking it would anyway, but I'm very happy with the Gibson. Much better then the stock POS setup.....
Good luck!

Mitch,
Thank you for the straight foreward answer!
I think I have enough "low end power" ( I don't need to burn up my tires) But I'd like better MPGs and mid to upper end torque.
I guess a "better" exhaust won't do it for me.

I have a Gibson split rear installed in my SCrew. As far as MPG, I really can't tell you.....the throttle response has changed quite a bit and I'm always on it. Pretty hard to get good mpg's that way. I do a lot of towing and have definately noticed a difference with the new exhaust, both on take-offs and going up hills or passing someone......yes I do pass people while pulling my 4500lb camper or 4 place enclosed snowmobile trailer.

Look at my signature and you can see the mods I've done to the engine.
I have 30,000 miles on the 'screw now, and I've kept careful mileage records over the entire time.
The accessories you see were added at the 26,000 mile mark. Here's the poop, so to speak:
Before the mods, my best tank of gas ever took me 375 miles. (15 mpg)
After the mods, my best tank has taken me 435 miles. (17.4 mpg)
Both of those tanks were probably 80% interstate, the rest around town. (25 gallon tank)
Trust me, I put my foot in it a lot more now that I have the mods, yet I still get better MPG. (I'm sure the lid helped, but I doubt all of this came from the lid)
I plan on the underdrive pulleys and the dual electric fans next. I'm hoping that will put me in the near 20mpg club on the interstate.
