I am hearing a loud ticking noise coming from passenger side front converter, has anyone heard this before. Only when vehicle is running.

 

Does this happen only when under a load?

What year is the truck?

 

This happens when in park for the most part. I dont notice when driving. The year is 99.

 

I have a similar sound coming from the front-right engine bay. Its consistant with the throttle, that is when I depress the gas the frequency increases. Someone suggested to me it could be a worn belt tensioner, but I haven't looked into that to rule it out. Let me know what you find out.

Personally, I think its a leaking header gasket. Had this problem on an old Chevy K-5.
