X-pipe

I have been looking at building my own kit for my truck, I found x-pipes at bigexhaust. My question is what is the difference between the 15'' and the 12'' besides the price? I want to do a couple of si/do for that distinct v-8 sound. I have had single glasspacks split behind with a y and it just sounds all mushy and pucky. I want to do a dual side exit in front of the rear tire, so there is no kit avail. for this application. You don't think this will be too much flow do ya. I am just like everyone else, I don't want to lose low end on this mod. I can get muff for 70 a piece and cheap x-pipe for 45. What is the diff on the x-pipes in length. thanks in advance

There is probably not much of a difference if no one knows, so I will just order the small one. I suppose I will go with the 2.25 muffs so I am sure as not to flow too much.

The reason that they dont make the kit where the tailpipes exit on BOTH sides before the rear tires is becauase of the gas tank on the drivers side. Dont think ya want a nice hot tailpipe by 25 gallons of explosive octane . You want a throaty V-8 sound?:
True duals 2.5" pipe with X pipe and 4" tips under the back bumper - no mufflers! People behind your truck will need earplugs.Or if thats too loud just weld in Magnaflow mufflers and call it good.

After rereading my post I realize why you thought I meant on both sides. I meant I would get si/so mufflers. I don't want my exits on the drivers side. I want them *BOTH* on the passengers side in front of the rear tire. I have not found a kit for this app. The reason I don't like the straight pipes is because of the pop sound that occurs. The pipes out the back is way out of the question simply because everyone else does it. My mind is made up on mufflers. I was just curious about the x-pipe. Thanks for the reply.

Look in my gallery, I believ I have the system that you want. All of it is Magnaflow SS. I would not trade it for anything!!!

Silver&Blue, I believe that the 15" and 12" refers to the overall length of the X-pipe assembly.

Hey Beastie, you are right!

That is exactly what I was looking to do. I have some questions for ya. That was not a kit right? Also do you still have that system on your truck? I didn't see it in some of your other pics. I realize you have an underhead cam engine but maybe this will give me some insight, did you lose any low end torque with that set up? What size muffs did you go with? I suppose 2.5 right. Thanks for the reply

Yes I still have that setup, I just have some older pics in my gallery. My engine isnt underhead cam LOL we call the pushrod engines JFYI. With this setup I gained low end, and my top end is incredible. It is all 2.25" and no its not a kit.

X-pipes & H-pipes are supposed to equalize pressure in the exhaust with true dual exhaust equipped vehicles. It supposedly gives a little better power. I am not an expert in this area but that is what I know.
