Stabilizer BlowOUT!

Just purchased a used 2000 X 4x4 w/ nice wheels and tires 285 and love it. No mods yet-2 days old...HA. Everything on the vehicle is solid, and electrical is all OK. The only thing I have noticed is it looks like the steering stabilizer shock is blown out and plus it looks worthless, looks like some fluid on exterior of shock. Not from the engine, thank God. Any recommendations for newer dampening, without going to a power assisted
hydraulic unit? One more thing, how do I take out the 1-1.5 inch steering wheel play?

Do you have stock shocks, wait until you see them, they are all blown!!!...Take the slack out of the sterring box, with the adjuster screw...

Excursion Shock Replacement

Just completed my first mod! Replaced factory steering dampner. Installation was no problem, had to massage the mount brackets a little to accomadate the larger cylinder! Where is the adjustment screw for the steering? I do not own a Factory Service Manual (Which I am interested in owning, CD maybe)Also love the comment about the factory shocks blown out! It does feel like I have alot of roll in this vehicle at high/low speed turns. Not ever owning a truck with so much weight, I really do not no what to expect, except my Super Crew has a much tighter, turning, stiffer suspension. If I were to change out the factory shocks this weekend, which shocks would any of you recommend. There are so many to choose from. I tow to a local lake approx. 10 weekends a year, and make 4 trips to Tahoe ayear. Do not want to spend more than $300 for four (4) shocks if I can help it.
