So Alternator some of you think? Even though it runs really good now, and my battery levels remain high and fine?

I dont doubt I could remove and re-install pullys, the thing is, I have never done it before, and my truck is my only transportation, so its not something I really want to pull apart you know? I need my truck every day so I never went wrench crazy under the hood. If I get an exact answer that it is involved with the pullys I could take an attempt at it. If it could be an alternator problem, do I have to replace it soon? Or could it wait under later, as in when I can afford to buy one
That TSB and JMC's post makes allot sense - who cares what vehicle, it's the noise that's concerning.

Yea , I know you could handle this one Darren - if you felt like it - Just take a metal rod of some sort and using it a stethoscope - find out where the hell the noise is coming from first - That really works!

A general mechanic is good for a basic understanding. If you don't work on these trucks all the time, you lack the education. This is what I'm getting out of your posts here and in other threads - your spreading like a virus lol -

This is more of a vehicle specific forum vrs a jack of all auto's one - sort of speak. Open your mind and don't be so afraid to learn and you may benefit from it.

You sound like an old fart, stubborn and set in his ways which is an accelerated version of a little whinny brat who doesn't get his way.

BTW - I don't think Darren can PM you yet.
You can be a general mechanic or a Ford Guru. The trouble shooting steps NEVER change. The fact is it might just be his idler pulley but with the way the information was relayed to someone with no engine expierence was just wrong.

Saying I lack education shows your true ignorance. I have a Journeyman ticket and you do not know where to use the word your and you're. I am done on this subject. I can feel you trying to pull my IQ down to YOUR level. YOU"RE a little baby Jbrew and if you ever feel the need to battle wits you have sadly picked the wrong opponent. How ever I will not hesitate to B**ch slap your words in front of anyone.

No, that's not going to fly. If you got a problem with me , you take care of it here and now. Don't threaten me for later , -you do it now. NOBODY wants to hear this sh^t - it's not what this forums all about.

Your mocking, badgering me in other threads I see. You won't get a response or be entertained..So get it all out now, it won't be tolerated much longer.

BTW - You can quit repeating my posts in your own words. The least you can do is be little more original -

Reference post 13 & 15. -

As said, I'm trying to keep the problem in this thread only, you should try and do the same. No need to edit yourself in the other threads. I have it saved if you do.

Also, picking out spelling errors is a little petty don't you think chief ? Your grasping.

Keep it up killer , your doing fine

It went away, and hasn't came back, but I bet it will if the temps from back into the single digits, so i'm confuesed as to if this is normal or not because thats a very loud whistle.

just remember when things get cold they shrink, that means pulleys will be tighter around what they are spinning on. since it only seems to be happening when it is extremly cold i would'nt worry about it, if it is a pulley or an alternater going bad just drive until it gets worse or completely fails, then you will no for sure. that way you will not waste money diagnosing a noise that they may not be able to figure out until it gets worse.

Me too, but the suspense is killing me

I can feel the tension in the air

OK, jbrew and killer: which came first, the chicken or the egg?

shur hoppe ah spelt awl thet rite

shifty, I'm 6'9" and 310 lbs. what in the world are they feeding you guys up there, garden salads with the lite dressing? Come on down and I'll fry you up some porkchops and some 15 bean soup with fatback to wash it down with.

Darren, from the sound, it sure seems like an accessory pulley to me FWIW. But when in doubt, follow the TSB. Don't know anything about nylon tensioner pulleys---who's ignorantazz idea was that?

WOW, How did I miss this thread Brew.
In another thread you posted you have "been fighting I think", is this what you were refering to. I just went through this entire thread. Unbelievable covers it in 1 word.
As Shifty 85 wrote in post #34, I will agree with that post so I don't have to write my own argument for you. (changed my mind, read below)
Where did this guy come from. It's gotta be "bigger wrench envy" or something. I am surprised Rockpick or Bluejay didn't step in after the B**** slap comment.

For you "killernotfiller", look at the real big picture. You didn't understand the the "who changes your underwear, Mommy?" thing but you don't know Brew either. I read that response and was turned off a little by it as well but I give Brew the benefit of the doubt because of his sense of humor
(or trying humor) and greater than that, is his continued FREE advice, technical help, piture gallery that no one can compare to, etc etc. In the end, he explains why he put that response by knowing who DarrenWS6 is and voiced his opinion. Your crap should have stopped there.
In Darren's defense, My Stepfather worked for GM for 27 years in their plastics and injection division, running machines, but other than oil changes and tire rotation's, he calls on me for all of his service work. He is not mechanicaly enclined and would rather give me a call rather than guess & mess with a problem. You are out of line and have crossed some lines here that I believe should have you put on the shelf for a little bit or banned all together.
Do not start on me as a Jbrew a** kisser or any other crap. I just appreciate his input and help. I also appreciate the help of alot of members on here. I would type the list of names but I would be here for awhile.
Like myself, Jbrew and other members, our advice isn't always perfect or right but I play the laws of average here. On an average, Jbrew is well above average. Take the time and go through all of his posts, you better put the whole weekend aside to see how much good he has done and how much GOOD ADVICE he has given.

Other than that Killer, have a nice day.

I just looked at jbrew's post count. If he didn't have to post replies to the attacking posts his count would only be half of what it is. I think he is a closet post ***** and he sings up as different members and attacks himself to get the count up.

This gives me my daily dose of required humor, usually Jbrew supplies that. Too funny !
