I want to add keyless remote. I bought a remote off of eBay and follwed instructions on how to program it. I had precise programing instructions from Ford so I know that is not the problem. I couldn't get it to work. What I am I missing here? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You already had a keyless remote, and wanted to add another or the truck did not come with keyless entry, and you added the whole system ?

I know that jefflaws did a whole topic on adding PATS keys, and adding keyless entry fobs to the system, if you try a search through his posts.

If my memory from this past summer recalls correctly, the keyless system only allows for 2 fobs, and the PATS system is 7 keys.

Maybe a check on his memeber ID and look over the 100s of posts he has, might let you in on it.

Or maybe he will be by in a min, to answer himself in person.

 

Are you 100% sure that the truck came with keyless entry? It sounds like you never had any remotes, and bought one assuming since you had power locks that you had keyless. IF you do have keyless, cycle the ignition 8 times without pausing more than 3 seconds between. If the locks dont "lock, unlock" then you have a problem. (no keyless).

Also, the last part of your post seems to be talking about a different vehicle?

sscully, you can actually program 4 or 8 remotes, i cant seem to remember right now. Ive been off work for almost 2 weeks now and im forgetting stuff, lol.
