Indicator lamp in headlight switch ****.

My lamp is burned out and I have no idea how to change it. I may dive in to it this weekend but I would like to have some knowledge first. I hope I don't have to change the switch just for that stupid lamp.

You can remove the switch to check, but I think you'll find the bulb is not replaceable. Do you know how to remove the switch assembly???

I did one in an Explorer about a year ago, it wasn't to bad. Hardest part is removing the switch. The bulb only costs about $2.00 from Ford.

Good luck,
Mike

I just got an 00 f150 and was wondering about that indicator. Mine does not light up. I asked about it here and had a few responces indicating that theirs do not either. Maybe when I take the truck in to have the seat replaced I will ask about it.

Hey Rob,
Maybe I will hold off until you get it confirmed if it actually has the bulb. I think I can figure out how that switch comes out. Thanks for the responses.

Thanks again

I guess I will take it as a "isn't suppose to work" and leave it alone.

I asked at the dealer to check the indicator not lighting. They informed me that it does not light up. Wanted to charge me $20 for it on the work order. We straightened that out in a hurry.

I'm working on the headlight switch to install a Bulldog alarm. How do you get the switch out? I found the slide pin on the bottom and that allows the bottom of the switch to kick-out some but I can not get it out all the way.
What I really need is to find the parking light wire (BRN) at an accessible location so I can tap into it.
