This isn't my area of expertise, so forgive me if I am completely in error, but, isn't white light comprised of ALL the colors? Therefore, it would seem that white would provide the longest distance, since it has all colors available?

The way I read it, they're specifically talking about fog and mist conditions for the fogs thus, that's why I was considering trying it.
