What kind of rear back up lights do you use?

I was looking to add an extra set of rear back up lights, the KC 26 series . . . anyone have good or bad luck with these?? The install looks pretty simple to boot. Any other recommendations?

Yeah, get the KCHilites 26 series #517 kit. I put it on 1.5 years ago and they have worked great, no problems.

I ran some extra wire, put the relay in the engine compartment near the regulator. Also wired an extra switch in the cab to turn the back up lights on anytime, wether or not the truck is in reverse.

Running the extra wires/relay/switch is the best way to do it. The shortcut method of tapping the backup lights is a sure way to blow the DTR (senses the trans is in reverse). As stated previously you can also turn then on whenever you want-great for hitching/unhitching at night.........or tailgaters.

Here is some info on a very nice clean install of back up lights. I haven't done this yet but plan to follow it soon.

I am in the process of using that stock fog light switch that you pull out, on my 97 xl f-150. I couldn't use it for my driving/fog lights, so now I can use that wiring, and not have more switches in the cab.

I use one Hella 550 driving beam as an additional backup light on mine and it works great. I like the Hellas because of the plastic housing that resists rust up here in Salt City, USA.

I would highly recommend using a relay when adding any additional backup lighting or you'll be disappointed with the results. The stock wiring just won't support the extra load.
