Hey everyone,

I have a 97 F-150 4.6 X-cab, cool stripped down work version "S".

My speedometer quit working. A transmission shop put in a new/used good shape little plastic gear (in the rearend?) but it quit again. The guy said it needed the internal gear replaced that the aforementioned gear meshes with.

Is this a big job to replace them both? I am a pretty good amature mechanic and I'd tackle it if seemed do-able.
