Source for OEM elect./parts ???
Source for OEM elect./parts ???
Greetings,
This concerns a 1999 F150 4.6L 2wd Lariat.
My airbag light was flashing and staying on, so I went to the Ford shop and had the code read. It indicated that I needed a new passenger side "keypad".
This "keypad" is actually the switch located directly below the right air vent on the center pod on the dash surrounding the radio/ac controls. By means of inserting the ignition key, you can disable the passenger side airbag in case your passengers are too young for the SRS.
The Ford dealer wants $72.00 for this switch. I'd like to save some $, so I was wondering what sources you'd recommend for this type of replacement part - online, salvage, etc... TIA

When you replace it, the harness is plugged in under the Instrument Panel Relay Cover. Disconnect the battery and allow a few minutes for power to drain before you replace the switch. It's pretty straight forward.
