Brake/Transmission lock

Does anyone know how to unhook the Brake/Transmission lock so you don't have to push the brake to shift into gear?
Thanks

It gets kind of complicated. On most new vehicles instead of being a basic electrical circuit it is controlled by a separate shift lock ecu, so it wouldn't be to easy to defeat without causing other problems. Why would you want to disable it?

pull back on the shift lever...

start to turn the key towards the on/start posistion..while doing this apply slight pressure on shifter towards taking it out of park..at a certain point it will shift out of park...are you having problems getting it out of gear with engine running?...it could be one of two things;switch at brake pedal is bad or the wire going to that switch is cut ...the second happened to me

Also i believe all 2000(?) and newer vehicles have to have some sort of shift lock over-ride button so your truck can be put in neutral to be towed. Usually it is on the bottom of the steering column coverd by a little plastic cover.

Tranny Lock

I use the pickup for pulling all the crop in from the fields(2500acres).
Real pain to have to push the brake every time when coming into the pickup hooking up wagons, to move an inch or two.
