Question Foglight replacement bulb ???

I have 2000 F-150 and am looking to upgrade the fog lights to PIAA and have a few questions.

1) Will the PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs work as a replacement bulb without melting lenses or burning wiring harness.

2) If the PIAA bulbs will work without any of the above problems what is the part #. PIAA web site says 9006 but after research I have found it is not the right bulb (Bought it and it doesn't fit).

Already swapped the headlights with 9007 series and they look GREAT. Want the fogs to look as good and be as useful as the headlights.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

9006 (55 watts) works for '97 and '98. For '99 and up, you need a 9145 (45 watts).

I used 9005's (65 watts) as a replacement for the stock 9145's, and they dropped in like they were made for the opening. I have been using them for well over a year now without a problem. They are pretty bright, however; you may not want to do that switch if you tend to leave your fogs on all the time.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me how often you use your fog lights and the duration you keep them on. I don't always use fogs but when I do they might stay on for a couple of hours. If you've had them on steady for 2 + hours I'll probably go with the 9005's as well.

I have had them on for extended periods with no problems, at least 2+ hours. But for the mostpart, I treat them like I do my brights; if I'm in traffic, I leave them off.

Thank for your quick response.

Just ordered the 9005's. Should have them by the weekend.

Rgds,

Roger

Good luck, Roger; let me know if you have any trouble, and, if not, let me know how you like the new bulbs!
