Question Battery Part Number

How would you find out the exact part # of the factory battery that came with your truck? The new dealer-installed battery is quite a bit smaller than the original one and the battery cover sits on top of it with 1 inch of free space on each side. Is this normal or did I get a cheaper battery than the one I requested?

I don't have a part number but, almost all full size Ford vehicles require a size 65 battery.

Hi

You didnt say what year truck?

Look in the owners guide book...should list what battery your engine calls for.

If it dosent list cca/res.cap/amp.hr etc...then you have to find out what the rating #s are for OEM batt....then compare those #s to new one.

Smaller batt. with same capacity as orig. maybe...but again...i would ck. to be sure i got at least OEM rated batt. JMO

Good luck...OT

I think they may have given you the smaller of the 2 offered. I'm still using the original, from when my truck was purchased in June, 1997. It is the larger, optional battery. I don't have part #'s, but when I called the dealer to check, they did ask if I wanted the standard or larger, optional battery.

Battery (Standard) = 58 amp/hr

Battery (Optional) = 84 amp/hr
