last year about this time , my battery would go dead because of a short somewhere. dealers were no help because it happened intermitantly. I was able to trace it to the fuse box under left side dash , Iremoved the box to inspect and found nothing wrong tried to disassemble the box but could not without destroying it so left alone and reinstalled in truck and never had any more problems until today when exact same problem occured, I plan to replace the fuse box this time but wondered if anyone has any knowledge of this?

 

yappydo i have a fusbox out of my 97 supercab that i took out to do the lightning engine swap along with ever other harness and modules, so let me know if you need it and anything else thats electical in you truck. gary suns@hargray.com

I had a problem with my blower starting by itself or running when I removed the key from the ignition. Ford dealer changed the fuse box yesterday saying it was corroded from a leak in the windshield. I didn't get to see it so only time will tell if my problem is gone permanently.

 

Your experience sounds very similar to mine because my blower motor would also run with the igntion key off, radio would also play with key off . I will certainally check for water damage now that I have your input, thanks
