You are on the right track, but models that have keyless entry have 3 relays and a RAP module inserted into the harness. The wires you have are generic to both doors,IE:you may have to find both sets of p/y and p/ltgr to make it work. The pnk/yel Lock, and pnk/ltgrn Unlock are outputs from the factory ALL UNLOCK and ALL LOCK relays. Without they relays and stuff you will probably have to go direct to the door lock motors themselves.

Pink/Black=Lock
Pink/Orange=Unlock

bobz,

First, I am assuming the wire colors are the same for your '97 as my '00...

The type of circuit used on your (our) truck's door locks is known as "Voltage Reversal" or "Reversal Rest at Ground".

You need to locate the wires that are running between each lock/unlock switch (i.e. driver - passenger sides).

On my year truck they are Purple w/Blue for LOCK and Pink w/Green for UNLOCK.

It is there you need to splice for both doors to work.

I located them behind the passenger side kick panel. It was easier to work "over there".

You will need two additional SPDT relays to complete the installation.

Refer to the instructions for your system on the proper hook-up.

Good Luck...XLT_D.

They are known as "Reverse Polarity" as stated above , or 5-wire, if you don't have factory keyless, you have a 5-wire system.

The wires you need are located behind the passenger side kick panel, the same colors you stated above. You'll need your test light to determine what side of the wire is the "switch" side and what side of the wire is the "motor" side of the wire. Meaning side of the wire???? I mean when you cut the wires, cutting the wire will leave you with two sides.........a switch side and a motor side. You can do this by pressing the appropriate switch and your test light should show current...meaning that its the SWITCH side...and then of course the other side is the MOTOR side. You should understand more about this by the directions in the manual.

GOOD LUCK.
