The noisemaker / door locks, don't work on my alarm.
The truck is a 95 F-150 regular cab, eddie bauer.
So basically I have a 1/5 pound plastic paper weight under my dash, with a whole bunch of wires connected to it. But the cooool thing is that whenever I press arm/disarm the flashers work -ooooh. I just bought my truck about two weeks ago, and it has become blaringly obvious that my alarm system is completely retarded. The noise maker has never, ever worked. When I first got the truck, the alarm worked - without sound, and it would only unlock the doors, not lock them. Then a couple days later it would not unlock the doors, but it would lock them. But during the last couple days the alarm system neither locks, nor unlocks the doors. However, I can still tell that the alarm system is working, because the truck won't start unless I disarm the alarm and I can see the lights flashing. I believe the name of the alarm system is MIRAGE, but I'm not positive. I know enough about alarms, to know that I don't know jack squat about the wiring. I can just tell when it doesn't work. The guy who installed it must have had only 3 brain cells. I am guessing, that there are some bad connections somewhere, any ideas??? If it can be easily done, I wouldn't mind fixing it, but if not I'll rip the thing out - if I can.
