Post Wiring Diagrams

Does any body know where I can get a wiring diagram for my 2001 F150 Supercrew? It did not come with the factory tow package so I need to wire it for the electrical, including the electric brakes. Thanks in advance...

You dont need the diagrams, you need to go to a dealership and buy the trailer plug harness that has the 7pin socket and the attached harness. It plugs in to the main tail harness, bed harness and has one ground eyelet, just like the 4 pin one you will remove. Then, all you have to do is get the trailer brake controller wired to one of those pitails to plug in under the dash. I do it all the time at work.

Relays

Mine also had 2 relays with the kit in the glove box ( ordered towing kit ).
Aren't these also needed ?
The plug under the dash is just to the left of the air duct over the trans hump ( black plastic grille & surround ).
I mounted my brake controller on the lower dash panel, and ran the wires up and over the black plastic ( only has 3 bullets holding it in ) so the wires don't show in the cab, and you won't be hitting it with your knee on the lower dash under the steering wheel area ).
In the pic below you can kind of see it behind the cell phone holder, I coil up my phone headset and set it n top of the brake controller. Just noticed one of my wires fell below the dash, you can see the yellow one next to the ODB II plug.

Depends on what he's gonna do with it. If he just need lights and elec. brakes, then no.

If he needs reverse lights and trailer charging feed, then yes.

I was trying to keep it simple for him till he got hooked up.
