Question slow passenger window

My passenger window is a lot slower than the drivers side.
Is this normal ?????? The passenger door has been taken apart by the dealer to paint it.

2000 F150 still under warrenty.

Thanks Wingman

Out of the dozen or so that I've been in, I have not noticed any difference in speed between sides. It sounds like something is binding with your passenger side -- like not properly aligned prior to final fastener tightening -- or other boo boo that will surely cost you a bunch to fix.

Is it possible that new window catwisker or guides were installed -- or relocated -- causing some additional friction of the glass as it slides?

I have squirted silicone grease in the window tracks on another vehicle to free things up a tad.

Last thought is that the window itself was improperly aligned (usually a couple of fasteners on the bottom of the window?) and is not as centered in the door frame as it was when you took it in for service.

If I were trying to fix it, I'd have loosened the fasteners and run the window up/down to center itself and then tighten things -- but then again, I haven't been in one of these F-150's -- and the old ways might not have any place in the new trucks.

Please post your successful fix methodology, and...

...good luck!

My passenger side window is slower also. If I hit both buttons at the same time the pass window is about 1 second slower in going all the way down. I also notice that it goes up slower also.

I do remember in one of my wife's old GM products they purposely had the driver's window go down faster for use at toll plaza's (and when you are handing the cops the documents ), and such. They actually spelled it out the toll plaza thing in the manual.

Oh well..I love my Screw and I guess I can live with this.

Wife had that problem in her truck. Thought maybe the motor was going. Dealer took door apart, sprayed some lube along the tracks. Now it back at "full speed". Doors are easy to take apart. Worth twenty minutes to give that a shot.

try this

11389 POWER WINDOW SLOW/BINDING

TO ADDRESS SLOW OR BINDING POWER WINDOWS ON SOME 97/98 F150/250LD(U 8500 GVW) PERFORM THE FOLLOWING: MEASURE THE TIME FOR THE WINDOW TO FULLY OPEN AND CLOSE. LOWER THE WINDOW APPROX HALF-WAY DOWN WITH DOOR SHUT & STANDING OUTSIDE OF VEH, GRASP THE TOP EDGE OF THE DOOR GLASS & MOVE THE GLASS AWAY FROM & TOWARDS YOUR- SELF, BACK & FORTH, APPROX 3/4 TO 1". DO THIS 5-10 TIMES. OPERATE THE WINDOW & TIME IT AGAIN TO VERIFY THE IMPROVEMENT. IF THERE IS NO IMPROVEMENT, PERFORM THE ABOVE PROCEDURE ONE MORE TIME. (THE PIVOTING OF THE GLASS IS SERVING TO WIDEN THE GLASS CHANNELS & REDUCE DRAG BY ELIMINATING POSSIBLE BUCKLES IN THE CHANNEL INDUCED DURING INSTALLATION.) IF THE ABOVE PROCEDURE DOES NOT WORK AFTER A SECOND ATTEMPT, REPLACE THE GLASS RUN. DO NOT REPLACE THE POWER REGULATORS OR GLASS.

"...and if, during this process, you end up with what looks like rock salt in your hands and all over the seat and ground, you pulled/pushed just a bit too hard..."*

*found later in the addendum, under "Oops".

Heh heh. Have you ever seen a body shop adjust a door?
