Current to the Fuel Pump

I have a 1986 Ford F150. I am not getting any current "electricity" to the fuel pump. What do I need to look for to correct the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

well not sure about the older rig. but pump will only run about tree seconds when the key is first turned on unless the engine is running or you are still cranking the engine on the newer trucks. or there is that dang relay under the hood that goes away on those. so no engine running or cranking no power to pump.

good luck

Hi Kid Welcome!

You need to find out what powers the fuel pump...Later models have a fuel pump relay...mounted in the fuse box (under hood)

Also check the inertia switch that supplies power to pump. If tripped..it shuts off power...if buttom is up...push it down...that switch maybe located on drivers side (sidewall) to left of brake pedal?

Good luck....OT
