AfterMarket Multi-Function Switch????
AfterMarket Multi-Function Switch????
I have the "Phantom Windshield Wipers" problem. You know the problem, "it" activates whenever "it" decides to. I need to change the multi-****ion switch according to the posts on this site.
It appears that everyone is using a factory switch. My concern, is that, the problem may continue if I replace it with a factory switch, since that is what is causing the problem.
Does anybody know of an aftermarket supplier of the late model F-150 (mine is a 99') multi-function switch??????????? and did anyone change it themselves? Thanks.

not sure about aftermarket. be carefull if you find. the sw's all look alike butt most are diff. seem's like they change them inside every few years. i know some years dont fit others. be cause i have had the wrong sw. and drove me crazy trying to fix. i know a guy that took his apart in the car and cleaned the contacts. he said it wasnt that hard. might try that. he hasnt had any prob. sence. good luck
I ordered mine from www.fordpartsonline.com (which are ford parts). I think it was like $52 including shipping. The dealer wanted almost $90 for it.
Wino and 97 Green Lariat,
Thanks for taking the time and effort to provide a response. This thread is my second attempt to obtain some help. You two appear to be the only souls out there brave enough to respond. Thanks again.
I think I am going to attempt to clean the contact points like Wino suggested and if that does not work, I think I will order a new multi-****ion switch from fordpartsonline as 97 Green Lariat suggested.
Of course, when I am able to actual complete these items I will post an update for future reference of the next guy that thinks their truck is haunted.....ha!
