Lightning third brakelight install

I just ordered a Lightning third brake light unit from www.oemfordparts.com. From what I have read in the forums it is just a straight swap to install. Is that correct? Does anyone have any hints on getting the headliner loose to get to the connector?

My 2002 Screw is my first full size pickup and is only a month old so I don't want to damage anything while putting in the new light. You guys have really done a great job on your trucks and I hope to slowly build mine up to your standards. Your postings have greatly increased my knowledge of trucks. Thanks.

I think when you pull the stock one out it should have the coneter there just disconect it and put it on the new Lighting one and mount back where the stock one was I haven't done it my self but it should be a easy swap out.

Talking Install successful

I just finished installing the new brake light. It was simply a straight swap. The main difficulty was getting the old light's plastic wire grommet out but a pair of pliers did it. The new wiring harness plugged right into the old socket. Took about 20 minutes. The new brake light looks great! Much better than the old one. Thanks to the guys that offered assistance and guidance.
