Dome Light Wiring

I just put in a Alarm/Starter, I was looking for the Dome Light Wire, I found the Color wire 40 PIN CONN FIREWALL BEHIND DR DASH, Here is it exactly. Is there a better place to get to it. Do you really need the RELAYS to get to work. Thanks

What year truck?

I can only help with late models (98-02). It is Black w/light blue stripe and available behind either kick panel.

As far as the relay(s)... If the manufacturer says it's required than it is.

This would be because the output is not capable of supplying the current required to drive the dome lamps, bed lamps and door lamps. (all on same circuit)

If you choose not to use the realy you will likely "pop" the output transistor (and release all the majic smoke that makes it work!).

BTW: The relay is only ~$5!

Good Luck, XLT_D.
