I have the multi-function switch problem. My right blinker only works if I don't lock the turn signal lever into place.

The other day I was pulling into a parking lot, when I flipped the blinker switch nothing happened. I tried the other blinker, but nothing happened. I tried the hazards and got the same thing which was nothing.

I left the hazard button in the on position and after about 10 seconds they just started working. Now everything is kind of normal.

Should I be worried and does anyone think this is the type of thing that will be fixed when I replace the switch?

I have the very same problem. I started a thread that explaned my problem with my 97. You did say what year you have. You need to clean the contacts inside the column and that should fix it. See my eariler posts.
