Angry 90' F-150 Electrical problems

Hooked up a brake controller per included specifications. Now I have NO dash lights, tail lights or head lights. Even if I disconnect the brake controller. All fuses show ok. Are there various relays that I should check? And if so, I can I tell if they are bad? Or do I have something major going on here?

Hi skidog

Did you get it fixed?

If it took headlights out etc. sounds to me like you got some wires crossed?

You didnt say what kind of brake controller?

Relay check...just a basic simple one...with ign. key on, unplug relay, when you replug it in, you'll hear contacts click. Usually that indicates its ok...but, having a good spare is wise.

Your owner guide book will list all the locations of fuses, including the headlight circuit..

Hopefully you didnt blow the brake controller.

Good luck...OT

Got it fixed. It was the relay! One of the wires had shorted out and took out the entire relay. Ford even went good for it because it was internal. That was a suprise!! Thanks for the hit.
