Question Open Plug, no body knows????

There is an open plug, under the hood release on my 2002 SCREW. I am somewhat sure it is on others. Does ANYONE know what it is for???

Thanks in Advance!!

I'm sorry!!!!

The plug is under the exterior hood release, just arooung the "Ford" oval!!!! Yes the one in the cab is for the trailer brakes.

Sorry for the confusion!!!

Sounds like you've found the engine block heater.

what kind of plug is it? How amny wires go into it? Is it the male or the female?

If it is an AC looking plug, then yes it is the block heater.

Whoops! My mistake. If indeed it turns out to be a 3 prong AC plug, it certainly must be for a block heater. My advice is to move to Nome, AK and plug that sucker in!!!!

No, it is not a standard AC plug. It is some sort of accessory plug, I'll have to check the shape later!! Thanks

It could be for the temperature sensor for the thermometer that is located in the mirror or overhead console on some models.

Maybe it's for the 5.4L Engine (NGV)?
