Heater Fan Stays On With Key Removed

Last night my windsheild wipers started working sporadically. Sometimes they would work when I turned them on, sometimes they would not. Then I noticed that after I shut off the truck, the heater fan was still blowing. If I turn the heater selection switch to off then the fan will stop and it won't come back on if I turn it back on. Trying various other items, I found that the turn signals would work with the key out also. Anybody have any similar experience or have any idea what the problem might be. Still under warranty but I would fix it myself if it was something fairly easy, save me a trip to the dealer and a day without my ride. Thanx.

Sounds like the GEM module. Probably best to have the dealer fix it because of cost. Located in the dash.

If the acc. are working with the key in the off position , then it could be the key switch or a relay or box is staying energized.

Try wiggling the key switch with the fan on key off and see if you can make them go out....this will tell u if its the key switch or not...

Do you have a remote starter? If you do, check that system first.

Mine was doing the same thing, and it was the remote starter, loose intermittant connection.

Good luck!

He doesn't have a remote starter and hasn't been able to reproduce what happened. The truck has been fine all week. Not sure what was going on since it won't do it right now.
