Over head console Temp gauge.

Got in the truck this mornin and was looking at the temp gauge for out side and it said 36 then flashed the word ICE then 36 then Ice and did this for about 3 min after start up then quit. Any one know what this is or why it did this?

It is to warn you that there may be some black ice on the roads I think as mine does it as well.

Page 67 of my owners manual states ...

If the outside temperature falls
below 3°C (38°F), the display will
alternate from “ICE” to the outside
temperature at a two second rate
for one minute.

It is to give advance warning when bridges and such might start getting slick.

Flashing outside temp indicator

Amazing what one can learn just reading the owners manual
