Electical System still nuts

well here I am back again after three weeks with the same problems as listed before with regards to all the accessories going nuts and only working when the pickup is in park or neurtral...nothing works in any forward or reverse gear....
here are the symptons...

No wipers....No power windows...No guages....No power locks...4x4 will engage and disengage constantly...cruise control sticks and will not disengage even in nuetral...have to turn off key and restart...fog lights stay on all the time...

Have had the GEM module cleaned and serviced and ford even changed a few parts they were sure would fix the problem and sent me on my way...well it did it again and this time it did it when I was going 55 miles an hour and the wipers just stopped in one heck of a rain storm and the curise control would not disengage...I almost side swiped a semi....I called ford immediately from the road after I found my heart and checked my pants....I took the vehicle to them again last week and they still have it....they wanted me to just sort of go away but I told them this was not a problem of just irritation it was a safety matter now....The truck was doing the problem when I took it to them at the shop so they put it right in the stall and put a monitor computer on the truck...well needless to say it showed no codes...so they have no idea what is wrong...I only have 29K miles on this one and it is still in warranty and I told them if they let my pickup out the door with this condition still present and I had an accident or caused one from no wipers or other problem related with this situation it could be a real sticky problem for them leagally...It was amazing how quickly they responded to the mention of safety and litigation....Hell they gave me a vehicle off the lot to use while they try to find the problem in mine....So at this time the pickup is still in the shop and I will check later this week to see what has came along with finding the problems...if any of you out there have had this problem and had it solved please let me know so I can tell the brilliant staff at ford how to fix it...thanks again for taking time to read this and if you respond to this you have my appreciation....Steven R. Hi Wheeler

Geez! what a pain in the a$$!

At least your under warranty....just keep records, notes, repair invoices etc...showing complaint...what was done to fix it etc.....No, i dont have a fix for your problems..to many!

Service shop didnt build your truck....there just trying to figure out whats wrong....When they hook up to data-link (obd2 scan )...alot does go thru the PCM..so if no code thrown...then thats gonna make the mech. think....hmmmmmm.....where to go look next. Also...would a bad PCM cause any of these problems?

Not all Ford mechs. and mech. in general are created equal...meaning...you may end up going to another dealer/service dept....maybe not?

I wont go into how many Ford ser.dept i went thru to correct an on going problem...thats why you have to keep good repair records etc.. I can understand your frastrations....

Be cool...at least you got a loaner....

Good luck...keep updating....tks. OT

wheeler55--I've been gone from this site for a while now so, I missd you original post but----

We have had this same problen with #'s of trucks--1st things 1st,

Have you ever had the windshield replaced-the resone I ask is because all the trucks that have had this same problem have a leaky shield, the water runs down the shield under the dash and gets into the GEM module and fuse box. If water gets in eather 1 REPLACE THEM!!! Dry or not, if water gets in it won't get out for a long time.

Have them check the windshield--99% of the time you will never see any water come in but, its there. Have them test it with air to find the leak, if there is a leak Ford should replace it under warranty if its the original.

This is what we had to do to all the trucks that we've had in with the same problems--and sence you said you were in a rain storm when this all started, it tells me you have the same problem.

Sorry if I repeted anything that you've been told before

Hi there...I hven't read this in a long while...my pickup is still in the shop now for 3 straight weeks...They have finally came to the conclusion that I have a leaky winshield....and the water is dripping supposedly on the gem module....and creating the line of symotons that I am having....So if they remove and reset the windshield that should correct the problem if this indeed is the problem...I have had every thing that could go wrong on this truck go wrong...Anyway I am wanting to get rid of this vehicle....I have the piston slap and the low end knocking when I first start....it is just one thing after another....hell the rotors are shot on the first brake change at 27k....I baby this truck and always follow recommended services...but what can I say...it looks like you have nailed the possible cause of the problems....anyway thanks for the input here....it just reassures me that I am not loosing my marbles...lol.....take care...

Steve
