DRL Resistor location

I'm looking for the resistor plug for DRLs on my 2000 S'Cab. And before you hit the reply button, yes I've searched the archives and they have been of no help. I've looked high and low and have been unable to find this d@mn plug.

Idears?

Dan

Hokie;
You DON'T have the resistor plug on a "US" truck. Try these links for info on how to purchase and install the upgrade .....

http://www.geocities.com/skyjet1/DRL.html

and yes ... there is info in the archives ...pointing you to this, and other threads . Best of luck

The 2000 Factory wiring manual shows it as being in the left front corner of the engine compartment. Picture shows it next to the headlight, inboard, level with centerline of light. color of connector is listed as black. Terminals (2).

Go from the bottom

As somebody else stated, you will only have this plug if you live in Canada, or (like me) got a truck that was prepped with a canuck package and then sent back to the states.

I have '01 Screw and immediately wanted to turn off the DRLs. If you lay under the drivers side of the bumper and look behind the headlight you will see a pigtail connected to a (white?) block about 2"x4". This white block is just screwed onto the metal frame right behind the headlight housing towards the radiator. It is nice and conspicuous looking and pretty easy to find if you look from the bottom. All you have to do is unplug the wire and let it hang. No more DRLs and everything else works fine.

However, if you have friends lie mine, you may want to disable this wire in a more permanent fashion. One buddy of mine thinks it is funny to constantly reconnect my DRLs.

Good luck!
